What is Battle Cancer?
Battle Cancer is a mass-participation fitness competition that raises money for cancer charities across the world.
We fundraise for family and friends, to celebrate those that have fought and won, and in memory of those we have lost. Battle Cancer is, and always will be, accessible and open. No qualifiers, no waiting lists. Regardless of strength or skill, we embrace anyone that can get involved, raise awareness and battle cancer with pride. In fact, for many of our athletes, Battle Cancer is their first ever competition. If you can move, you can fight.
Our mission is to inspire, support and unite people with one goal: kicking cancer into the dust. We want to drive a movement that helps those affected by cancer, to inspire them in their darkest moments and support them in recovery. Our work aims to raise awareness and funds for cancer charities, and help facilitate survivors return to health and strength through fitness. Together we will battle cancer, and together we will win.
After a number of small-scale fundraising events in 2015-2016, Battle Cancer was born in 2017 with its first competition held in Manchester, UK. Co-founded by friends Scott Britton and Pete Williams whose lives have been repeatedly hit by cancer, the team now encompasses upwards of 100 core members, organisers, volunteers and brand partners.
Our movement brings together a lethal combination of some of the world’s leading professional athletes, industry influencers, bloggers and vloggers, and the flourishing functional fitness crowd from all corners of the globe.
We are in five countries and growing, with 16 international events planned in 2020, more in the pipeline, and the aim of taking our movement far and wide.
Battle Cancer is the world’s only 100% non-profit functional fitness event.
