Become a Battle Cancer Volunteer
Battle Cancer events are not just for those competing!
Headed up by our co-founders Scott and Pete, Battle Cancer events bring together a diverse team of dedicated organisers and volunteers. We devote our spare time and skills to the planning, delivery and growth of Battle Cancer and we need you!
There are a variety of ways in which you can get involved as a volunteer. In exchange for your time at our events, we promise you a free t-shirt, nutritious food, a goodie bag and a hugely rewarding day of inspirational competition!
Check out the roles below and get in touch if you’d like to volunteer at one of our events.
What will you do?
Our volunteers help out with judging on the competition floor, organising the huge number of athletes, kit and equipment, and make up our essential logistics team to ensure the event runs to time and plan. Donating your time is directly helping Battle Cancer take place. We don’t ask for previous event experience, although that’s brilliant. But why not get that first experience whilst giving back to charity?
Judge – Working right in the middle of the action on the comp floor, you’ll be responsible for counting reps and ensuring standards are met.
Equipment – This heavy lifting role is a workout in itself! A vital job for our comps, you’ll be working to ensure each lane has exactly the right equipment it needs for the work out to happen.
Registration – The first Battle Cancer volunteers our athletes and spectators see, this customer-facing role needs friendly, smiling people to get everybody into the venue! You’ll be checking names off lists, handing out t-shirts, and herding people in the right direction.
Athlete Control – An essential role in the timely running of our events, athlete control ensures the right teams are warmed up and ready to hit the comp floor in time for their heat.
Do you have a special skill that we haven’t thought of? Get in touch and let us know!
